Wasaga Beach Discussion 259 of 365; Playing Fast and loose in Wasaga Beach Remember when Mayor Brian Smith said he would do things so fast that by the time we realized what was going on it would be too late? Well, establishing an Entertainment Corporation was one thing, it’s done! But now, there are upcoming letters of incorporation for a “Development Corporation”. In trying to understand the “why” of a development corporation, just look at the Entertainment Corporation. It was shared publicly that a municipality was not allowed to make profit on any events they planned. Our Council and staff know this! Solution… create a corporation and use it as a loophole. It allows profit, decisions without public scrutiny, risk without municipal control and arms length from liability.
