In Wasaga Beach the news and flow of information is entirely controlled by Mayor Brian Smith and is used to further his own personal agenda. His hand picked council and senior staff ensure his wishes overide the needs and representation of the whole community.

The Grinch
Some people's souls have grown over the course of covid, they have stepped up and helped even when the risk wasn't fully understood. Many of those (but definitely not all) work for the town of Wasaga Beach. They ensured that the work got done and that the municipality supported the efforts to get over covid. A notable exception would be councillor Joe Belanger who's soul shrank two sizes and shrank again when he voted against town staff getting a day off as a reward for their hard work. There is little the town can do for its staff, but a token paid day off is something many other municipalities are looking at. It costs little and the missed work will assuredly be made up over the following weeks.
