Wasaga Beach Discussion 299 of 365; Golf courses in Wasaga Beach Bold ideas? Yeh, I have some! Way back in the 2014-18 term of office, a well prepared deputation / presentation was given to Council and they were asked to consider purchasing the Marlwood Golf Course and turning it into a Municipal Golf Course. After watching the presentation, I remember thinking what a great idea it was. I believe the Mayor (Smith) thanked those who presented the information and said he would have staff prepare a report so Council could look into it further. I don’t recall the report ever coming forward but a short time later, the Mayors friends purchased the golf course, so it was no longer a possibility.
