Blue Beach lies

So this morning I was drinking my coffee and reading emails and someone asked me “what happened to our vaunted Blue Beach status?”. It was in reference to the latest post I made about our town’s declining online reputation.

I checked at

swimdrinkfish.ca and lo, we are off the list. This is a WTF moment.

It is an international award given to beaches in over 49 countries that meet a series of criteria of quality, safety, hygiene, provision of services and care for the environment. We were awarded it in 2007 and held it up until last year. What happened and why is the town no on this? Just like the pooping on the beach, Smith holds his nose when things go bad.

I checked with the town site and “somehow” the incorrect information is posted there

So what’s going on here? After Poopgate and the disastrous handling of that by our Mayor, then there is the plan to demolish all the amenities and remove almost all of the parking… are you seeing a pattern here?

lets not forget the proposed massive fines for people renting out their property or running an airBNB. How about the crackdown making business using signage they have used for decades illegal?

For whatever reason, this mayor puts money over Wasaga Beach. God knows he spent enough greasing his way into the mayors chair.
