Property Standards lead to profit!
In reviewing Discussion 73, the focus was on discussing the big lie about Brian Smith not living in Wasaga Beach. That’s right, for those of you joining late, Mayor Smith has lived in Tiny Township for years. He even lived there when elected to be our Mayor. Who knew?
Anyhow, the documents I used in 73 also highlighted some Real Estate dealings of our Mayor and his family.
Buy a property, split it up. Create several properties, sell them. However, it might be impossible to sell one or more of the new properties due to property standards. That’s okay… if you know how to navigate the political process of dealing with property standards issues, eventually you can sell any property.
So… recently, the properties discussed in 73 (Owned by Mayor Smith) have been the subject of a Property Standards meeting.
If someone has time, I wonder if we can find the results of that meeting and post them here?
Or, will the minutes of that meeting not be available until after the Smith Council post the agenda for their next Council Meeting.
I suggest it might be interesting to attend the Council meeting THAT report is included in. Watching Mayor Smith déclare a conflict and listening to the discussions the remaining Council Members may have in this matter may also be interesting.
I have two good questions;
- Do property standards decisions set precedence for other future decisions or appeals?
- Has the Mayor or his family had other property standards decisions affect other real estate dealings in the past 10 years?
