I will make today’s short and sweet.

Mayor Smith objected to a recent Facebook post where the use of the Arena was being questioned.

For once, I agree with his assessment. It was wrong to be critical of this great facility and use photos that conveniently support an unused arena when we know it not to be true.

However, the post was put on FB by someone intent on criticizing the last Council for everything they do. Jeremy Sinclair may actually be the son of Susan Sinclair. Susan Sinclair weighs in on the post, also being very critical. I have no problem with that.

What I do have a problem with is Susan Sinclair posting all of her extensive debates as Susan Pearce.

The Town of Wasaga Beach has clear policies for members of Municipal Committees in regard to public posts. I guess if you use a fake name it allows you to say what you want with immunity.

Shame on the Mayor and the CAO for not intervening.

Why don’t they? They have in past warned others.

There are people who serve on all kinds of committees who tell me they are very disheartened, but there is nothing they can say or do. Should my advice to them be to do what Susan Sinclair does and just post under a different name?

I’m guessing this Council will soon react now that there is public discussion on the issue.

This is one of the many reasons I oppose people using Fake ID’s in order to attack others. I accept that some require a pen name to protect themselves from harm, but this is not that situation.

For over a year now, Susan Pearce (who is actually one of Brian’s Committee Members) has been one of the biggest Brian Smith supporters, so for that… her online behaviours have been excused.

It’s not right!

Let’s start discussions about Fake ID’s, Pen Names, etc… I think it will be very enlightening.
