Congratulations Wasaga Beach

Congratulations Wasaga Beach
Congratulations Wasaga Beach. As a community, we are one step closer to a full public high school.
Whether we move forward now is entirely up to the Province of Ontario. Yes, everyone has heard that the school board submitted their capital funding request to the province with WB listed as their second priority.
So…. What can we do to help ensure this moves forward. Well, simply… everyone who has ever shown an interest, everyone who has commented about our need on social media, every resident with school aged children…. WRITE an email or two!
What would you say to our town?
Well, they seemed to step up today and take credit for this important step. They had nothing to do with it, but I don’t care if they jump in. What does matter is what they actually do something now. You could ask them to prepare meetings with the Minister of Education? You could ask them to invite the SCDSB to join in any delegation they might arrange? You could ask the Mayor to spark up his “High School Task Force” and offer incredible resources to the SCDSB to assist in their efforts. Most importantly, ask them to focus their efforts as strongly on pushing this proposed public school forward as they did for the separate school board partnership they fostered.
What would you say to our Province?
Well, we have a new Education Minister. The “Honorable Jill Dunlop” is the new Education Minister. Write to her! Ask her to work with the SCDSB to ensure we get this important high school approved during this round of funding! She is the MPP for Simcoe North, so she is likely VERY familiar with our need for a high school.
Do you remember Minister Lecce saying how he received plenty of communications prior to the Catholic Board Funding announcement?
These letters work! Writing a letter will only take a few minutes and the accumulative effect these letters can have is quite powerful.
I will include a few email addresses:
The Honorable Jill Dunlop
Minister of Education
Mayor Brian Smith
