Corruption in Wasaga Beach

I’m working on a series of discussion posts, but it will be a few days until they are ready. Meanwhile, I will just reach into my “waiting discussions” vault and grab an important one for today.

Corruption!

What is it? Does it exist in Wasaga Beach? It is certainly a delicate topic, as nobody wants to be sued by our Millionaire Mayor or our well connected CAO. But occasionally, issues rise to the top that trigger certain people to speak out and this should cause everyone to be interested AND critical.

If you follow the many Wasaga Beach groups, you will see that a well known politician who lives in Wasaga Beach is again speaking up. I rarely agree with his personal political directions, but I admire his resolve to speak out! Giorgio Mammoliti has served not only as a Councilor in our largest City, but also as an MPP in our Provincial legislature.

I have discussed the often mentioned trip to Italy before, but today’s public comments cast a deeper shadow than before. Our Mayor, Joe Belanger and Richard White and many BS supporters and their partners once enjoyed a vacation to an Italian Villa owned by the President of FRAM and his sister. Who paid? Who didn’t pay? What was the TRUE cost and what hospitality mingled with what discussions? Our Mayor tried to publicly address some of these questions once, but did he satisfy YOUR curiosity?

When you are reading comments from Giorgio Mammoliti in the various threads, it is REALLY important to remember (or be advised) that he was once recruited by the Brian Smith support network to be their leader. He helped them raise funds and incorporate a group (WBRPA) that now appears to operate as a BS support mechanism.

He announced early during the last election that he was running for Mayor. Sadly for him, this group DUMPED him when their true leader Brian Smith decided to return to politics. After the election, one of Mayor Smiths close friends even launched an investigation into the financial conduct of Mr. Mammoliti regarding his campaign finance.

What they all forget is that Giorgio was in a position to truly see and know what the WBRPA was truly all about. In these recent posts, he describes them as a CULT!

Before dismissing any of this as trivial or insignificant, consider who the present members are of the WBRPA and what their mandate appears to be. Consider that one of our Councilor’s (Fay Ego) actually started the WBRPA.

PAY ATTENTION TO GIORGIO’s COMMENTS! I have never supported his political ideas, but he does demonstrate distain for what he paints as corrupt. For that… he gets a checkmark from me today. Way to go Giorgio!
