Everything Beachfront Failed

So much to write about but today I want to focus on how demolition of what’s remaining of our main end seems to be getting ready to start. That’s right, the Dard, Bananas and all other Town owned properties that are in the way of “whatever” the secret plans are, will be destroyed.

This is probably Brian Smiths biggest mistake ever. He bought those buildings saying “we can’t control what we don’t own“.

When he did that, we gave up the taxes we used to collect, but he said not to worry as we would make thousands as landlords….

So, his good friend at FRAM was going to rescue him and build a small paradise….

Now he is parceling out the big project and has a “letter of intent” from a Hotel operator that he claims will bring a name brand hotel to Beach One. Despite not sharing with the public, what the portion of land use will be, or how much WE are paying to prepare the site, he is bulldozing ahead to make room for the Hotel that’s not planned yet. What will Wasaga Beaches gem look like for the next few years if Sunray also backs out?

If it fails and the Hotel does not get built or its a shadow of what people expect, will Brian Smith care? No… he doesn’t live here and he has increased his wages so much he won’t need the job in two years time.

BUT WAIT! He peeled off prime development potential land to give to his friend at Stonebridge and all of his supporters are clapping like seals. Here’s the thing… Many of his wealthy supporters will probably purchase one of these condos and they can’t wait to put up their private property signs. The Townhouse development at Beach Two in 2018 cost Brian and his team the election. Brian do you think by moving it 200 mètres East, it will cost you less votes?

I hope it never gets approved. EVERYTHING WEST OF FIRST STREET SHOUKD REMAIN PUBLIC USE SPACE! Period!

They may as well have these plans on napkins as all they have shown us so far are this week’s power point slides. Don’t get too excited, there will be new pretty pictures to look at next week. Why are these plans all so secret?

There is absolutely no complete vision of Beach One, or Main Street. Why? Well Brian seems to be having trouble convincing real developers to participate. I wonder if he is having any second thoughts regarding insulting one of the biggest developers in Ontario???

Next, let’s talk roundabouts. They are building one right at Beach One, where Andrew McNeil can stand and say, look what I built. (It might even cure diabetes-

) Of course, everyone he boasts to about that will give the same response as they stand there watching the traffic.
