Jobs in Wasaga Beach

Let’s lighten it up a little. Jobs Jobs Jobs. Guess what… another COSTCO update!

Soon people will be talking about jobs in Wasaga Beach. The big wigs from COSTCO are aparently coming to town this week. The other part of what I heard was they would be signing, but no specifics on what they will be signing. Lol. Maybe they are signing building permits.

Maybe they are getting permission from Mayor Smith to announce their active building site at Ramblewood and Lyons Gate. Perhaps they are signing the actual purchase agreement and all of the site preparation was part of the contract being fulfilled by the property owner.

Regardless of what this weeks visit will be, let me be one of the first to say… “Welcome Costco”. We have been talking about you for weeks now. Many people here look forward to reporting to work at your new Wasaga Beach location.

Perhaps we will hear a proposed opening date when they visit. Personally, I would like to volunteer one day for the position that fills the orders at the hot dog concession counter. THAT person has to be the most organized person in the building, completing a sometimes complicated task. To many of us… it is the most important position in the store.

“Number 48… two hot dogs and a slice of pepperoni!”

Now Costco jobs may be a year or so away. (6 months?) I haven’t followed their record of project advancement so it’s hard to tell when the doors will open. Let’s hope they share that information soon.

It sounds like a fun job. It’s possible/ (probable?) that there will soon be all kinds of jobs at the Town of Wasaga Beach. (When some leave to work at Costco…lol) Follow the link often to see postings added as positions come available.

The Town is a great employer and they are concerned with retention. They recently gave one employee a 40% raise to ensure he doesn’t leave to take up the same position at his home in Tiny Township.

Follow the Wasaga Beach Employment page. Our Council is creating jobs faster than any Council in history. Sure, we may end up with the highest tax rates in the County but, if you are lucky enough to land a position, you will work alongside some of the greatest people around!
