Just show up?

Yesterday, we discussed the BB attacks of the SCDSB and the history of our Mayor and CAO destroying important relationships.

Apparently it is not isolated to the School boards.

For years, the Mayors and CAO’s of five communities have gathered to talk about what’s going on in their community and explore possible collaborations or share ideas.

I have always thought these informal get togethers are one of the best ways to ensure we work with our neighbours instead of always competing.

These are not secret, many people are aware of these get togethers and I’m certain all kinds of projects have benefitted from these men and

women sharing their knowledge and experience.

There was one of those important meetings yesterday and guess who waited until the last minute and informed the group they would not attend. That’s right, the CAO and Mayor of Wasaga Beach were apparently unavailable.

That’s ok, we have a deputy Mayor and a Deputy CAO right? Well yes, all of these people are being paid, but NOBODY would attend.

What are your thoughts on working WITH our neighbours instead of always competing for everything. Should our Community have had representation at this meeting?
