Keep Asking, Keep talking
Keep Asking, Keep talking
Whoops! Missed a number. I don’t want to take shortcuts, as there is enough of that in Wasaga Beach Council. So here is 349.
This morning I woke up and like most days, I checked Facebook to see what was being talked about today. Often, that shapes my discussion of the day.
I had already decided what I wanted to write about and saw a few posts that supported my decision.
People ARE speaking up. Writing these posts is having an effect. It is a perfect result and I suspect over the next couple of years that commitment will grow.
The ONLY way, this growth will remain positive is if we continue to speak out AGAINST those who enter the discussions just to be rude. Influence administrators to simply boot them out to improve the groups or just leave the groups.
By eliminating the voices of fake ID’s like Drew Peacock, Nigel Burnamthorpe, Justin Sharpe and others, it creates an environment where those who use their real names and want to be rude, May have to stand alone. Great!
Slowly, we are creating an environment where it’s okay to disagree. Our discussions here spill out into the community and THAT is a good thing.
The one common attack strategy some share is to constantly say the “last council” didn’t accomplish anything.
By speaking against such foolish statements, it doesn’t change anything that happened in the past, but it does cast a shadow on those who are just being unkind. The link I attached today shows the detail our last Council shared when talking about their activity. By contrast, nobody really knows where we are with Beach One development at this moment.
I also noted today, someone questioning when we would have the “public meeting” regarding Allenwood Beach and the property rights issues. THESE are the important observations. We were PUBLICLY told there would be a meeting, but it’s not on their priority list and it leaves the public asking questions, like;
Have they discovered things they DONT want to discuss?
Have they already decided a course of action and property sales are imminent? Who knows? They do. So keep asking!
My next post will expand on “people are talking” and hopefully we can help others see that in Municipal Politics, talking is good!
