OUR Celebration?

So, was the party week at the TPAL actually organized for Wasaga Beach Residents to enjoy a grand opening combined with our 50th anniversary celebration, or was it simply a handful of parties and concerts to prove to an adoring following, that these parties can and will go on as long as Mayor Smith wants them to continue. They actually want to form a separate Municipal Party Corporation. Yes… your taxes will be directed to whatever 70’s and 80’s celebrations Brian Smith chooses.

I think it is wrong to go this path. I also think that true financial reporting is essential!

I understand that recently on a radio interview, Mayor Smith said out of town people were targeted for these events. In the Deputy CAO’s flawed report it also said 50% of attendees were from out of town. Why is that if this was about OUR celebration?

They need to make this approach SEEM profitable. So, it’s no wonder they are LYING about surplus funds instead of being truthful about the costs of throwing this week long party. Imagine the celebration our local citizens could have enjoyed if the half million dollar budget was instead focused on us.

It’s easy to forget about the locals when so many of the decision makers (including our Mayor, Some Council Members and both CAO’s) live out of town.

Let’s push for the truth about the “actual” costs associated with this half million dollar party!

People SHOULD be concerned about who was invited into the reserved and VIP sections. Who were these attendees, where are they from? I understand no photos were allowed in these sections to protect the identities of those enjoying our hospitality.

Really?
Why would that be?

(Tomorrow’s discussion- We are making a difference.)

Note: the image isn’t the town TPAL party. this looks way more fun.
