Selling off the Wasaga Downtown plan
Earlier today, I posted a short comment about Council going “in camera” again. One of the topics to be discussed was the sale of 128 and 138 Main Street.
One can safely assume this is the properties next door to the building at 140 Main that housed the Archives until recently.
After a long behind the scenes secret session, they emerged from the in camera session. Guess what? The standard statement… “staff direction was provided” was all we were told.When you elect an out of Town Developer as your Mayor, you are going to get real estate deals. Lots and lots of secret, planned out real estate deals. Who will benefit from these deals? Well, it won’t be the public, that’s for sure.
Sure, they had a few more people than normal at the regular meeting that followed this “special” Council meeting. But guess what… that meeting was also filled with developers and real estate deals.
Hmmm…. I wonder if any of the developers involved helped the current 7 get elected?
More later about the Main Beach area. I just didn’t want everyone to miss the fact that there was probably a hidden reason we closed our archives.
Remember… Brian told us by the time we realized what he was doing it would be too late. He is fulfilling THAT promise.
These real estate deals will fill his coffers to offset some capital costs, but your taxes are still going one direction and going there fast!
