Sincere apologies to the king of Wasaga Beach

Well, today’s Council meeting certainly had plenty to talk about over the next week or so. I wanted to start by sharing my observations about the control issues that appear to be in play.

In the attached 4 second clip from Deputy Mayor Snell, she is recognized as the next person to speak. She starts with the following statement,

Now I haven’t reviewed the procedural bylaw recently, but is there a rule that says the Mayor must have the last say in every issue? Watch any meeting and you can see he almost always does this. It’s as though his word is the final word and he even introduces his lectures in this way frequently.

But for our Deputy Mayor to apologize to him for speaking her mind is bizarre. Of course, you may have difficulty hearing it, because the Mayor spent much of the meeting coughing on everyone.

Earlier in the meeting, he even asked everyone to excuse him as he was sick with a cold. Hmmm… leading a Council Meeting while being symptomatic of what is possibly a contagious virus. How selfish and irresponsible can one get?
