As long as you have the qualifications you should apply. My guess is that despite their criticism of the last Councils HR statistics, this Council will hire more new employees than any other two previous Councils combined. The tax implications of this frenzied hiring are yet to be seen. Hey… if it doesn’t increase my taxes, woohoo!

You don’t need to know anyone to get a job. Of course there are many that think it can’t hurt to know someone. Who do you know? A Council Member, a CAO, a Mayor or maybe a developer associated with the town? Don’t know any of them? Just stop and speak with any town employee. They will tell you what a great place it is to work!

I have never applied for a job there. My working days ended long ago. But with the speed that the very top positions of CAO’s were filled by using friends of the Mayor, let’s hope the process is more appropriate for those filling the many important positions posted.
