But… Council business continues, so today we discuss Thursdays agenda:

All I can initially say about this one is WOW!

To the legion, I wish you luck. I hope you are successful at the Sports Park.

The biggest news in this weeks agenda is the official forming of our entertainment corporation. Yes people, it’s happening. Our Mayor will be the Chairman of the Board. The CAO will have some pretty far reaching powers. The setup costs are only estimated at $15,000.00 with no upper limit.

We know that the operating capital of this corporation will be financed by a loan of $500,000.00 from our Taxes.

Remember that in the initial report to Council it said that $427,000.00 would fund the first years wages for the top four positions at the Corporation. Wow!

PLEASE Read your entire agendas. Lots of interesting things to look deeper at. You decide what is a distraction and what is true Council Business.

Have I mentioned lately that our budget process for the year has started? Despite this, Cheque registers are only available for public review up to the end of June.

What will this year’s tax increase be? Who will Council blame it on?

At one time the Mayor or the CAO (I don’t recall which) said our municipality could not legally operate a profitable event. Is this corporation simply a loophole corporation?

Maybe Bob and Doug or others experienced at the “Party On” philosophy should be on our board of directors.
