Where is all the money going?

During the Special Budget meeting of October 14, I was entertained by a very pretty Power Point presentation. It was filled with all kinds of nice photographs and images that visually painted a really cool, happy budget presentation.

I wanted to focus on one aspect of the draft budget. Reserves!

Check out the “Obligatory Reserve Fund; Development Charges.”- Opening at just over 5 Mill, Adding just under 5 Mill, but spending almost all $10,127,520.00 of it! That’s OK, Brian, Joe and Richard are going to leave about $88,693 to start the next year with.

But to be clear- they do throw a good party!

Oh…. This draft of the budget did not include the recently announced OPP increase in costs. But Beach One will continue prepping for Private Condos and a big hotel complex.
