The important thing about creating a budget…

Third Quarter Financial Report is a part of this weeks Council Meeting. In this report, I noticed an exceptional cost over-run in the “Glenwood Property Conversion”. Well, I have been mentioning for the last few cheque registers that it seemed they were spending a LOT of money over there.

So far, $157,000.00 has been admitted to and they only budgeted $25,000.00 initially. (Remember… this is Q3)

So… why the big increases? Do these increased costs also include the lavish furnishings we see purchased? Wouldn’t it be horrible if they had to push a chair across the parking lot instead of buying a new one?

This is only Q3 spending. Where will this spending be at year end? I’m sure they will ensure all their t’s are crossed now that we are discussing it, but… who approved these overages?

More importantly are the implications if the quiet rumours actually come true about the Town getting a new Main Street Town Hall built and leasing it from the Developer of choice.

Was it just Planning and Building that moved over, or did one of our CAO’s move over as well?????
