Welcome to the Wasaga Chronicle.

A modern Chronicle of the Town of Wasaga Beach. This archive mainly contains Social Media posts that need to be remembered rather than lost in the chaff.

In Wasaga Beach the news and flow of information is entirely controlled by Mayor Brian Smith and is used to further his own personal agenda. His hand picked council and senior staff ensure his wishes overide the needs and representation of the whole community.

  • Wasaga Beach Discussion 338 of 365; Wasaga Council spending shell game So earlier I mentioned that there was a “Special” Council meeting Thursday. Yes, but there is also the regular Council Meeting. https://pub-wasagabeach.escribemeetings.com/Meeting.aspx... Honestly, there is so much in this meeting that should be reviewed carefully, but most citizens don’t have the time. This means that items like [...]

  • Wasaga Beach Discussion 336 of 365; Secret pecuniary interests? https://pub-wasagabeach.escribemeetings.com/FileStream... There are two Council meetings Thursday. The link in this discussion shows you the “Special” Council meeting that is happening. I admit I sometimes get confused by the content of these “secret” in camera meetings. So, before the Council goes in camera, they declare if they have a [...]

  • Wasaga Beach Discussion 333 of 365; Hypocrites! Our Council all appear to have been given the same script from their public relations department. Shop local! Brian’s campaign sounding add is almost identical to the messages they are sharing on Social Media. Ha! Have you seen the Amazon spending at Town hall? Our Council promotes out of town bakeries in [...]

  • Wasaga Beach Discussion 331 of 365; Wasaga Council has nothing solid for the beachfront Yesterday, I spoke with someone who had been insulted by our Mayor and didn’t even know it. So, I sent him a copy of the public meeting where it happened.   But the interesting thing is that sometimes when you review a meeting months [...]

  • Wasaga Beach Discussion 329 of 365; Wasaga Council Secret Meetings I would hope that every member of Council has read the attached page from the Ombudsman’s office. • Wasaga Beach Discussion 323 of 365; Who exactly does Wasaga Council serve? What SHOULD be happening is we should be preserving public space.
